Step 1: Go to Settings
You can access Settings by clicking on the icon from the Home screen of the phone.
Step 2: Click Applications, Apps, or Application Manager
You may have to scroll down to find it. The writing is dependent on the phone and device version.
Step 3: Click Manage Applications
In Android version 2.2, you must click this to open the app list. In the newer version, the app list is already open.
Step 4: Select an app
Click the app you want to move to the SD card. Look for the button with the words "Move to SD Card", then click to move the application. If the color of the button is gray, it means the app can not be moved to the SD card. If the button is not found, then your Android and smartphone versions do not support moving apps to the SD card.
You should note that an application must be specially designed to be moved to the SD card for this option to be selected.
Step 5: Download the app switcher
You can download apps like Link2SD to quickly see which apps can be moved to an SD card, this will save time when compared to having to view apps one by one. This app can even move apps that normally can not be moved, although programs can sometimes be problematic when run.
These programs are much more effective if your phone has been rooted.
