Step 1: Disabling Default Apps
- Open the app or the settings menu.
- Select Applications. If in the settings window there are several options or main menu, you need to select the option or menu "Devices" first.
- Select Application Manager.
- Touch the "All" tab.
- Select the app you want to hide.
- Select Disable. After that, the selected app will be hidden from the device home screen.
- If the selected app is not a native application, the option is usually labeled "Uninstall" instead of "Disable".
- You can find disabled apps in the "Disabled" section of the app menu.
Step 2: Using the Application Hidden App
- Open the Google Play Store from your device.
- Touch the magnifying glass icon that appears in the app window.
- Type the name of the third-party launcher program you want to download. Some of the launcher options that feature the application hide feature, among them, are Nova Launcher Prime and Apex Launcher.
- Select Go.
- Select Accept when prompted. After that, the application will start downloading.
- Select Open. This selection will be displayed in the Google Play Store after the application has finished downloading.
You can also open the app through a drawer or application page.
- Follow the application's usage instructions displayed on the screen. Since each launcher app is different, the process will be different.
- In Nova Launcher, for example, you need to hit App & Widget Drawers, then choose Hide Apps, then mark the app you want to hide.
- In Apex Launcher, you need to select Apex Settings and press the Drawer Settings button, then select Hidden Apps before you can mark the app you want to hide.
WARNING: Third-party launcher apps often cause the phone's performance to be very slow.
